Application materials are accepted only for current vacancies and must be received in the Foundation Human Resources Office by 3:00 p.m. of the recruitment closing date. Applications for the applicant pool for full-time and part-time Clerical Assistant II; Research Assistant I, II, and III; and General Assistant I and II positions are accepted on a continuing basis. Applicants may visit our office on the campus of California State University Long Beach. We are located in the Foundation Building at 6300 State University Drive near the corner of Palo Verde and State University Drive. Our office is on the third floor in suite 332. Applications are accepted daily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Parking information is available at the parking information booth next to the Foundation building or from the cashier booth in our suite. Applicants may obtain a daily, weekly, or semester parking permit at that parking booth or cashier office.
The announcements for certain positions indicate that supplemental application materials are required. These additional materials assist us in identifying the applicant best qualified for the position. Please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope when you submit your resume so that the supplemental materials may be forwarded to you. You may also telephone our office to request that the materials be sent to you by fax.
A separate application is required for each job announcement number. Applications without job announcement numbers will not be accepted for posted vacancies. Some positions may require supplemental information (See Supplemental Applications above). Resumes with cover letters identifying the position numbers will be considered; however, an application must be completed prior to an offer of employment.
It is to the applicant's advantage to have a completed application on file prior to an interview. All certificates and supplemental materials required must be on file before the closing date of the position, these certificates may be obtained at Adult Education Centers and Community Colleges.
All applications are reviewed by the Human Resources Department prior to referral to the hiring department. The stated skills and knowledge are used as general guidelines in determining the relevancy of experience when considering individual applications. If there is an interest in your qualifications, you will be contacted within six to eight weeks. If you are not contacted, you will know that another candidate was selected. We regret that we cannot personally provide information about the status of specific applications. All offers of employment and starting dates are subject to availability of funding.
